The Quinta lies 2 km outside the village Colares in the Serra de Sintra, a region populated since thousands of years and with a magnificent nature and very rich in culture.

The village of Colares lies about 7 km of Sintra. The region is famous for its wine, with its special taste.

Situated in the protected area of the Parque Natural Sintra-Cascais, near the Atlantic coast, it has a lot of spots of special beauty, worth visiting.

The mysterious and romantic Sintra with its lush scenery, palaces and views, is one of the most known places of Portugal.

Because of a mild and humid climate, near the ocean and surrounded by hills, the vegetation is very special, partly Mediterranean, partly Atlantic.

About 5000 ha, 1300 of which managed by the Portuguese state, the rest is private property.
The first inhabitants date back to the pre-history.
Sintra attracted through the ages all kind of people, to live here or for a visit. (Byron, Beckford, HC Andersen, Chr.Isherwood etc.)

Especially the Portuguese nobility loved the freshness of the air to escape hot and dirty Lisbon and gave Sintra the beautiful palaces, manor houses and parks, that can be visited today.
